Nolvasan Solution is the recommended disinfectant for use with laboratory glassware, latex liners and bladders. Nolvasan is concentrated and each one gallon bottle will make 50 gallons of disinfectant.
Nolvasan is also recommended for use in disinfecting the umbilical stumps of newborn foals, and is generally less irritating to foals than Iodine solutions. Colorado State University recommends using Nolvasan
two to three times per day for the first two to three days of life. Nolvasan should be diluted 50% with water when used as an umbilical stump disinfectant.
